U11A v The Elms Won 3-0

U11A v The Elms Won 3-0

Player of the Match: Beth D

It was suggested before the game, we played only 15 minutes each way because we were pushed for time, reluctantly we agreed, this meant we had to attack from the start. Georgy H, playing Centre Mid, worked consistently, feeding the ball through to our forwards Arabella H, Annie G-P and Ella N who worked hard but failed to find the back of the net, partly due to to The Elms competent and rather intimidating 'keeper. We were awarded a number of corners but unfortunately did not convert any of them, perhaps something to work on in practices. The Elms managed to break through on a couple of occasions but never threatened Sky U our 'keeper, due to great defending by Beth D and Oonagh S. Annie G-P managed to put us 1-0 up before half time, with a great shot on goal which was deflected off the goalie's pads.
It was not long into the second half when Annie G-P scored again, a textbook goal - well done! We definitely had a hold on the game and everyone played consistently well in attack and defence. Oonagh S and Beth D stood out at the back, working brilliantly as a team, covering the goal area. This meant Sky U did not get a look in and a rather miserable game, she perhaps should have been moved out of goal to play a kicking back. Georgy H and the forwards battled on and were rewarded for their efforts with a lovely goal from Arabella H, making the final score, a well deserved 3-0.
It was the first time I had seen the U11's play and it was a pleasure to be part of an enthusiastic, organised and talented team - very well done girls, keep it up!
