U11A v Westbourne won 5-2

U-11 v. Westbourne (away)

Won 5 - 2

Having not scored for three matches, there was some kind of pent-up release as we stormed into this match to be three goals up in just seven minutes and four up in fourteen minutes. Westbourne were clearly left reeling but they settled, composed themselves and came back into the game, scoring twice just before half-time. The second half was fairly evenly contested but we had the edge and towards the end Freddie H completed his hat-trick to make the final score a better reflection of the play.

This was altogether a better performance but there is still some way to go if we are to make a major impact in the Primary Schools' 6-a-sides next week. We are now scoring goals but must be more careful about giving away sloppy goals when defending. Jack H, our man-of-the-match, set an example in that area. His defending always looks measured and assured; he makes time for himself by constantly thinking about the play.
