This was always going to be fairly one-sided as Foremarke had been playing for half a term and we have only had the one training session. We battled well and the natural sporting skills of the boys kept Foremarke at bay for some time. However by half time we were 3-0 down and a flurry of goals at the end of the second half meant we went down 8-0.
Our stick skills require a great deal more work and we failed to get our sticks close to the ground when closing down opponents. We also moved out of position when being attacked and left Foremarke players in front of the goal unmarked.
Thus there is a lot to work on but the boys played with great spirit and a keen desire to learn and build. Tom D played very well in goal and was man-of-the-match. Bertie S was a keen captain who rallied his troops and Max W looked as though he might score on the odd occasion. They tried hard and should be proud but also eager to eradicate some fundamental errors in the coming weeks.
