Our U11 ‘B’ team secured their third win in three matches this season, again demonstrating our strength in depth among our 3rd year boys. I really do wonder how many other schools in the country with just 16 boys in Y6 have such a talented ‘B’ team …
Once we had our bearings, we enjoyed a purple patch towards the end of the first half and Lewis Jones and the increasingly skillful Matthew Nakulski scored to give us that important ‘cushion’ of a 2-0 half term lead. The passing between team players was excellent again but we must call for the ball more often as communication wasn’t good at times. With rolling substitutions in the second half we lost our way a little, but with Nick Thorne playing such a full part in goal, he needed to do so, we kept a ‘clean sheet’. Isaac Stables played an important role in midfield for the ‘B’ team and the pace of our wingers, Matthew Nakulski and Bertie Watts, along with strength in defence from Cameron Dale and Theo Hunter kept The Elms at bay. Well done!
