U11C v Oakham U12C Lost 8-0

Our U11C team comprising largely of u10s faced a very tall U12C Oakham opposition in their 1st game of the season. As one parent put it, it was like watching a team from ‘the land of the giants’. The Oakham players were organized, passing the ball well as a team and keeping their channels. Our girls played with great enthusiasm and soon learnt thay could take on a taller opponent and successfully win the ball. Lydia G played with feistiness and proved to be a solid defender. Yasmin D as a half showed pluckiness and enjoyed some good runs with the ball. Keeley R and Poppy S also provided us with lots of excitement and close scoring opportunities. Goal Keeper Imo C developed in confidence and must remember to keep mobile, in order to close down the shots. Immy H and Beth M developed in tackling confidence as the game progressed. The score does not reflect the efforts of our girls and we had scoring opportunities, but now need to work on our finish abd accuracy of shot. A good team effort, well played all!
