On an exceptionally hot day eight Under 11 players took part in the annual Repton Tennis Tournament. Many prep schools were there and the standard of the tennis was very high.
The U11A girls, Clare and Jessica, played extremely well, winning their three matches in their groups against Abberley Hall, Terra Nova and St Hughes. They went on to the Semi-Final but sadly lost to Swanbourne. The Under 11B girls, Georgina and Arabella, played very well against some excellent opposition but unfortunately were not able to win any of their three matches against Swanbourne, Witham Hall and Wellow House.

The Under 11 boys should all be congratulated on holding their own, aged nine, against players up to two years older than themselves. The Under 11B boys, Angus and Henry, played very well but unfortunately lost their matches against Birchfield and Grace Dieu but did very well to take Abberley Hall to a tie-break. The Under 11A boys, Rufus and Hamish, played extremely well, losing to Birchfield but winning a tie-break against Prestfelde. They took two other teams, St Hugh’s and Grace Dieu, to tie-breaks as well, disappointed to lose the matches but pleased to have given the opposition such a run for their money.

All in all this was a super day out, and many thanks to all the parents who came to support and encourage the players.
