After an extremely long journey we had very little time to prepare ourselves for the match. The early encounters were promising as we made headway into the opposition half. Maidwell quickly got there hands on the ball, somthing that was to be our biggest downfall in this match and through good rucking and ball retention slowly made there way up the pitch. Soon after they scored the first try of the match that was unconverted. Our scrummaging and rucking was poor and we lost possession of the ball far too easily and far too often. On the rare occasions that the backs got the ball they always looked dangerous. The later stages of the half were spent mainly on our try line but our defence held firm and we survived without conceding another score until half time. The second half was much of the same. Maidwell made their vastly superior possession count and scored two more unconverted tries. There were certainly positives to be gained from the match, Alasdair C. should be commended on his tackling and fleet footedness and Angus E. who is quickly turning into a very tough and direct player. There is much to work on and work on it we will.
