Nelsons were the winning team in the first house competition of term - the junior boys house hockey.

This was a closely fought competition as the scores below demonstrate :

Round 1 : Churchills 0-1 Nelsons, Pitts 1-0 Wellingtons

Round 2 : Churchills 0-1 Pitts, Nelsons 2-0 Wellingtons

Round 3 : Churchills 1-0 Wellingtons, Nelsons 0-0 Pitts

Nelsons also had success in the mini-'B' team competition involving themselves, Pitts and Wellingtons.

The only draw of the six matches, saw Nelsons and Pitts battle it out for the title in the final round, the draw suiting Nelsons as they'd scored one extra goal in the first two matches. Pitts had the ball in the goal, but it was disallowed - it was probably a disadvantage to have a Pitt member of staff umpiring!

As the rounds progressed the teams, with their mix of 1st, 2nd and 3rd years started to play very well together after initially struggling - house matches aren't traditionally of the highest standard - but there was some decent hockey played today (perhaps not surprising as captains Freddie H and Jack M-M had the cones out for some drills for their houses before the competition began!)
