U12 v Terra Nova Won 6-2

With the weather being bitterly cold it was vital the girls got warmed up quickly, which Arabella H lead the way as she stormed ahead and scored the first goal within minutes. Terra Nova stepped up to the challenge and equalised the score after numerous shots on goal that Fran was able to defend until the third attempt. It seemed it would be an equal match until the girls began to warm up and got their ‘hockey heads’ on!

Jess was playing a pivotal role throughout the game breaking up play and distributing the ball across the pitch to her team mates and providing the perfect set-up for Arabella H to score her second goal putting S.A back into the lead. After a slow start, S.A soon became hungry for the ball with Georgy H and Annie G-P pushing the play up the pitch and encouraging the Mid’s and Forward for another goal.  With the perfect positioning of Ella N and the power of Arabella H’s swing it wasn’t long until another goal was scored for S.A.

Our girls now seemed full of energy and Arabella Abbot was charging all over the pitch dominating her position and intercepting the opposition’s ball at any chance. Alice was played brilliantly in goal, kicking any ball away that came near her and had the constant support of Isobel who played a solid back. Georgy was keeping up the pace game and distributing the ball perfectly along with Jess and Arabella Abbott, who continued breaking up the play in the centre and allowed Annie, Arabella and Ella to push forward to score the 4^th goal for S.A.

It was coming to the end of the game and Arabella H made the most of an open goal and brought the score 5-2 and after a quick celebration Ella N decided that she would finish a brilliant game by scoring a 6^th and final goal! It can be said was a brilliant match for all, with the team working well together and players such as Ella giving 100%. It was a joint ‘player of the match’ for Jess R-S and Arabella H for their attitudes both on and off the pitch and for their consistent excellent and energetic play! A big well done to all the U12, as always it was a pleasure to watch you play!
