U12 v Westbourne Won 25-1

S. Anselm’s were all warmed up and ready to go. S. Anselm’s had a good start to the game with some great interceptions and shooting, but we also had some bad passing and gave the ball away. Georgy H and Alice S defended very well and delivered the ball onto the midcourt players. Jess R-S, Roxanne B and Erin S kept the ball flowing down the court and were timing there moves perfectly into the shooters.  Arabella H and Annie G-P were on good form and were dodging there players and swiftly shooting the ball in the net. At quarter time it was 9-0 to S.Anselms.

In the next quarter, S. Anselm’s kept up their high standards and improved the passing. Arabella A did some great interceptions to regain possession and delivered the ball nicely to Ella N who continued this fantastic play. Jess R-S was sending the ball into the shooters very well and was marking up tight. Arabella H was goal shooter and just kept popping the ball into the net, along side Annie G-P who was sending the ball into Arabella and shooting great herself. The Defenders kept working hard to keep the ball out of Westbourne’s half so they could not score which they did not. It was now 19-0 and we were leading. Mrs Northcott thought we could not carry on like this because it was unfair, so we had a little swap around of positions. Everyone was very excited at this point because they were trying out a new position. We had some strange changes, our GK Alice S was now playing GS, Arabella H was now playing GD, Georgy H was WA and Annie G-P was playing GK. Roxanne B came on as Centre and Jess R-S came off. We also started the match again so the scoreline was 0-0. We started the quarter slowly and the passing was poor. I think this was because everyone was still adjusting to their new positions and where they were supposed to be going. We then started to pick it up again and Arabella H and Annie G-P were defending surprisingly well to say they are shooters. Also Alice was playing very well and was scoring goals. The mid court players were also adjusting to their positions and were sending the ball to the shooters. Alice scored 4 goals and Westbourne scored 1 so the score was 4-1. We had another swap around and Georgy H played Centre, Ella N played GS and it was a battle between the tallest girl on the pitch against the smallest. We also had Jess R-S as GA, Annie G-P as WA and Roxanne B as GK. This last quarter started slowly and the passing was poor, people were passing without looking who they were sending it to. We then started to improve and the defenders were intercepting the ball and were sending it the Georgy and Annie and they skilfully sent it into the shooters. Jess R-S managed to score a goal with a pass from Ella N. Arabella H and Roxanne B were playing great and they were sending the ball accurately to the mid court players who were playing equally as good. Jess R-S then received another pass and got a goal. It was the end of the match and the score was 6-1 for that game. The overall score was 25-1 to S. Anselm’s. Everyone had had an enjoyable game and enjoyed swapping places and trying new positions. Well done superstars!
