U12A v Foremarke Hall, Lost 1 - 2

Player of the match - Poppy S

Today was an up and down day, particularly when considering the coach journey and then the match!  The team arrived feeling below par and then found it difficult to lift themselves particularly in the first few minutes of the game.  After only 3 minutes, Foremarke managed to sneak 2 goals and certainly surprised the S. Anselm’s side.  Mrs Northcott was not impressed with the lack of motivation and drive behind her team.  However, after the second goal was scored, play picked up. Poppy S, Georgia R and Clare T were fighting for possession and attacked well when possession was gained.  Due to her excellent individual skill and confidence on the pitch, Poppy S was switched to key positions within the team to gain added strength.

Foremarke were consistent with their attacking moves and had a number of shots on goal.  Imo C was absolutely outstanding once again and saved the day!  She is certainly a Goal Keeper to look out for in the future.  She kept the scoreline down and helped the S. Anselm’s team grow stronger as the match progressed.  After a productive team talk at half time, the S. Anselm’s team came out in the second half with a more focussed game plan.  Georgia R and Poppy S were excellent and the team were rewarded with a goal by Georgia R. Elfie C-E, Grace F, Amelia W and Clare T all contributed well in the second half but today, the team seemed flat.  It’s time for a motivational talk and time to get the confidence levels back up to normal levels.

A huge thank you to our parents who supported and encouraged throughout.
