U12A v Mount St Marys Won 19-9

Saturday afternoon saw an exciting team performance against Mount St Mary’s with a final score of 19-9.
The first three quarters saw a sound performance across the team; with scores of 5-2, 11-4 and then 16-5 after the third quarter. The final quarter was tougher, both teams scoring 4 each, bringing the total score to 19-9.
On court the defence (Francesca F and Nancy S) gave a sound performance and these two girls kept the Mount St Mary’s score low. In centre court Lily S, Eleanor T, Emma S and Hannah S put a lot of effort into the game. Chloe had an outstanding game, working hard to intercept loose balls and she worked tirelessly to help defend and to play the ball back up the court to our shooters and was awarded player of the match. In attack Olivia C and Lucy R played enthusiastically to get the goals on target averaging 5 each quarter between them.
For the next game we need to concentrate on coming in front of our opposition to receive passes and also to throw short, sharp passes rather than long overhead balls which can be easier to intercept.
