U12A v Oakham School Won 14-10

What a first match of the season! Lucy R captained an enthusiastic team, who played hard to achieve a 14-10 victory over the Oakham A Team.
The first quarter started well with Olivia C and Lucy R managing 6 goals to Oakham’s 4. In the second quarter our defence (Nancy S, Emma H and Francesca FH) kept Oakham to one additional goal. Unfortunately our position remained at 6.
The team managed to reset at half time and went back on with ‘fire in their bellies’. In the second half the defence worked extremely hard, despite the Oakham GA and GS height advantage, only allowing 5 more goals. A special mention is deserved for Nancy S, who really was flying around the court. The shooters got their ‘eye back in’ and scored an additional 8 goals. Meanwhile on centre court (Emma H, Chloe RS and Lily S) played positively and Chloe RS was crowned player of the match for her tips, interceptions and all round contribution.
