Despite the snow and assertive opposition, S. Anselm’s rose to the challenge and won 12-5. I was very proud of the team keeping its cool today. The first quarter saw Terra Nova take a lead, be it 1-0. However S. Anselm’s returned to court with raised heads and started to their own game. The second quarter saw S. Anselm’s go into an 8-4 lead, the third quarter this continued (9-5) and the after the final quarter the score was 12-5.
The defence (Nancy S and Francesca FH) played fantastically well and I awarded Player of the Match to Francesca for keeping her eye on both the player and the ball and for taking a number of interceptions. In centre court Chloe RS, Eleanor T, Emma S and Lily S all worked hard at getting the ball up the court and again there were a number of interceptions taken. Olivia C and Lucy R continued to score the goals. I would also like to mention Emma H. Off games due to injury; she still supported her team and acted as central time keeper. It also allowed Hannah S some match time.
