U12A v Terra Nova, Won 25 - 3

Quarter time score = 7 - 2

Half time score = 14 - 3

Three quarter time score = 24 - 3

U12A squad: Emily H, Clare T, Poppy S, Elfie CE, Amelia W, Grace F, Georgia R, Imo C.

Player of the match = Emily H, for her superb movement and domination in the D and excellent shooting, well done!

A super result for the Dreamteam, who despite shooting into the sun in the 1st and 3rd quarters, still added considerably to their scoring tally in each. The passing was slick, with all the girls playing their part in their team's success once again. Clare T and Emily H are playing some fantastic netball at the moment, both working well together as a shooting unit and their timing has been consistently superb. Emily is not afraid to move out of the D, providing another opportunity for her team and passing some excellent, accurate passes into Clare, who powers into the D to secure a prime shooting position under the post. Both girls shot really well today and it was job done by half time; but Emily marginally secured the POM title, for her confident passing of the ball to the outer edge, and movement into a space closer to the post; and her excellent shooting from far out in the D too.

Elfie CE and Poppy S worked hard on centre passes and assisted greatly with bringing the ball down the court; with both marking their partners tightly. Imo made interception after interception, leaving the Terra Nova shooters frustrated. When they did shoot her stretch position and reaching made it impossible for them to convert their shots and Georgia was on hand to pluck the ball out of the air. Georgia assisted greatly with the path of the ball down the court and once again proved to be key in our team's retention of it. Amelia W moved forwards for the ball today impressively, finding good spaces on the court and playing with real confidence. She also had some good tips on the ball and made some super interceptions.

In the last quarter it was time to try out some new positions, in case the unmentionable ever happens in a future game or tournament. We need to ensure we are prepared and work on alternative player combinations and this game provided us with a real opportunity to do so. Elfie and Grace F swapped to shooting positions, with Grace scoring our only goal of this quarter, well done! Both improved their dodging skills and moved forwards to receive passes in the D. We did have plenty of opportunity to score some more, but a little more practise is required. Clare T played centre impressively, proving to have the energy, pace and determination for this position, (don't worry Pops, she is much to valuable a shooter to lose). We may have only scored one more goal, but we prevented TN from scoring any further goals too, which says a lot about our superb defence. Well played everybody, well supported parents and watch out Mt St Mary's U13Bs you are our next challenge! Keep up the slick play dreamteamers!
