A FANTASTIC performance from the Dreamteamers! After a long wait they had a reasonable start and I thought after the first quarter that Trent would take the game to them, as they had started quite strongly, with some good mid court players and plenty of opportunity to score, but were unable to convert their shots, however. Having lost the tosss our girls missed out on the first centre and did not get to use their own ball for the first quarter either - having said that I have told them they need to be able to play and score with any ball though! We did have a tendency to rely on overheads in the first quarter and not come forwards for the ball - with the tall Trent defence picking off loopy balls to keep our score tally down.

After a quick chat at quarter time, there then followed two superb quarters; and I have to say it was very difficult to pick POMS for this game based on these two quarters as all of the girls were really cooking on gas! Emily H timed her injections into the D well, with her and Clare shooting superbly. Both girls dominated play and supported each other so well working hard to convert the shots and add to our tally, and made quick passes to each other, in order to secure a shooting position close to the post. It was a joy to watch, well played CT and Em! Pops after a slow and steady first quarter regained her pace and style that we know her for. Her and Elfie dominated play in the middle third, with both working their socks off to pass the ball into our shooters and set them up perfectly in positions close to the post. Imo and Georgia made countless superbly timed interceptions, secured all of the rebounds under the post and marked the shots so impressively that the Trnet girls found it very difficult to score. Amelia backed up play well in the middle third and worked hard to help bring the ball up the court. In the last quarter she demonstrated her versatility, playing WA and passed some super balls into the shooters. Grace F continues to grow in confidence, after an initial panicky start this game, it proved to be no exception with her finding good spaces on the court and passing the ball with good accuracy and strength, to support its path up the court.

In the final quarter we were able to give Poppy and her arm some well deserved rest. It would be true to say the passes did not flow as smoothly as they had in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, but Elfie proved she has the pace and stamina to cope wih the extra court area she needed to cover as Centre, and the team adapted well, which they may need to do in a future game, who knows. Thanks to everyone for their super support and positivity on the sidelines. The girls are working so hard and are so determined. Their self-belief and play on court are fantastically slick - a pleasure to coach and watch, keep it coming Dreamteamers! We have a double next week -  away at Terra Nova Wednesday, then at Mt St Mary's on the Saturday, a double whammy and boy are these girls ready for it! Superb play all!!
