U12's at IAPS Regional Tournament

We entered the tournament with a key defender down (Emma H) and within two minutes of the first game, Nancy S had a nasty fall and was unfortunately off court for the rest of the games. So two key defenders out, we battled on, often with players out of their usual position and a match formula untested by all our previously successful games.
The team worked hard at gaining composure and as we played more matches the play became more fluid on court. We were able to win four of our matches but unfortunately lost 3 games, meaning we did not qualify for the finals as we had hoped.
On court every player gave of their best. In defence Francesca FH consistently worked and was joined by a number of players. Lucy R. contributed whole heartedly to this area, despite being out of her usual attacking role as did Gabby T. In centre court Chloe RS gave an outstanding performance and was able to link the whole team together and she also proved to be an excellent captain for the day. Lily S played well at WA and Eleanor T did a sterling job as WD. In attack Olivia C gave a distinguished performance and as such was selected as ‘Player of the Match’. Gabby T and Lucy R also played good attacking netball in the goal third.
Overall, it was a really excellent team performance. Without our strongest team combination, the girls played hard and finished with a creditable 4 wins. I congratulate them all for their contributions and thanks once again for all the support, which really does lift the girls and the team performance.
