SILVER MEDAL WINNERS

Today has shown commitment, dedication and determination from a truly wonderful team.  Each match played has been tough, we have played very good sides and gained valuable experience along the way.  Each player have shown their true colours, from Ella N being hit in the face by a ball and determined to get back on the pitch with her team, to Alice S facing a penalty shoot out at the quarter final stage and saving crucial saves to gain a semi final place for her team.  Arabella H has scored confidently and with accuracy throughout the whole competition, whilst Captain Jess R-S delivered great captaincy, skill level and 100% commitment to her team and individual play.  Arabella H played a new role in the team and adapted well with successful shots on goal which added to the success rate of the team.  Annie G-P saved the day at crucial times with accurate and powerful penalty strokes made to ensure entry for the team into the semi final stages.  Alice S as Goal Keeper showed composure, confidence and excellence in goal throughout the whole tournament.  She was hungry to save the goals and to win the tournament!  Annie G-P and Georgina H were outstanding in defence.  They were just like…

A real highlight of the day for both myself and Derek is the dedication and commitment to teamwork from Fran B.  Today, a player who is key as a goal keeper played her part on the pitch in the section rounds, when crucial minutes were ticking away.  Fran B, you are a real team player and Derek, myself and the team thank you for playing such a crucial part within the team.

I must finish today’s report with the following that must sum up the day as a whole!

Firstly I must thank Derek B for his expertise and key coaching advice that is given constantly to the girls – you are fantastic to work with and that is certainly replicated from the girls!

M People – Proud
I look into the window of my mind
Reflections of the fears I know I've left behind
I step out of the ordinary
I can feel my soul ascending
I am on my way
Can't stop me now
And you can do the same

What have you done today to make you feel proud?
It's never too late to try
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
You could be so many people
If you make that break for freedom
What have you done today to make you feel proud?

Still so many answers I don't know
Realise that to question is how we grow
So I step out of the ordinary
I can feel my soul ascending
I am on my way
Can't stop me now
And you can do the same

What have you done today to make you feel proud?
It's never too late to try
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
You could be so many people
If you make that break for freedom
What have you done today to make you feel proud?

We need a change
Do it today
I can feel my spirit rising
We need a change
So do it today
'Cause I can see a clear horizon

What have you done today to make you feel proud?
So what have you done today to make you feel proud?
'Cause you could be so many people
If you make that break for freedom
So what have you done today to make you feel proud?
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
What have you done today
You could be so many people?
Just make that break for freedom
So what have you done today to make you feel proud?

We are very much looking forward to the forthcoming tour – I do feel that this song will be played on a number of occasions!  However, a super of set of girls ready to take on Northumberland.

CONGRATULATIONS on 2nd place at the Regional IAPS Hockey Finals at Repton School.
