Player of the match –Chloe R-S and Emma Hill
Wow! What a match ! After a slow start, S. Anselms certainly stepped up a gear. The whole team were working together under the excellent leadership of Captain Chloe! Within 5 minutes in the first half Emma H delivered a brilliant shot on goal and put S. Anselms into the lead. The midfield play was superb, Chloe, Roxanne, Hattie and Emma H all positioned well in their channels and provided plenty of opportunities for the forwards. Arabella H crossed an outstanding ball from the left onto the stick of Emma H positioned brilliantly in the D to finish off a second goal for S. Anselms. Maria and Nancy were ready in the D for any deflections off the GK. Overall, defensively Georgina H, Fran F and Hannah S were solid and tackled well. They persistently showed hungriness for the ball and Georgina played the ball up to the S. Anselm’s attacking 25 to create more opportunities for goals. Further goals were scored by Arabella H ( 2 goals) Jessica R-S ( 1 goal) and Nancy S ( 1 goal – she certainly deserved it!). Defensively Olivia C (GK) did not have much opposition but she kept focussed and ready for a break in play. The final score was 6 – 0. A brilliant match to watch, skill and understanding of tactics were certainly demonstrated. Thank you girls for your exceptional play – we still have lots to focus on but we are certainly heading in the right direction. Thank you to our parents for their support. MPN
