U13A v Terra Nova Won 6-4

The journey over to Terr Nova had been very wet and it was touch and go as to whether we were going to be able to play. We did however, on a very muddy grass pitch. This certainly unsettled us, being more used to Astro at this point in the season and the score reflected this after about five minutes of play and Terra Nova were 4-0 up! Time to refocus... Our backs Chloe R-S and Poppy M, who had never played together, appeared a little confused as to what the other was doing but once they got into the rhythm of one covering forward and one back, things improved immensely. Georgie H played very well, dominating the game, supporting both backs and forwards. We had a couple of attempts on goal, set up by some great crosses from Millie C, which unfortunately were not converted. Georgia R-S eventually scored, after being set up by Nancy J. 4-1 at half time.
Thankfully it was goals galore in the second half, we scored from a textbook short corner, taken by Georgie H, Georgia R-S scored from a long corner and sub Freya H scored the equaliser, set up by Nancy J. After a nightmare moment in the first half, when Grace B thought the ball had gone off the backline but it trickled into the goal, our 'keeper was unstoppable, making some fabulous saves. We continued to dominate, Freya H and Georgie H each scored another goal, making the final score 6-4. A great recovery girls, well done!
