PoMs: Freya H and Nancy J
It was a great autumnal afternoon for some competitive hockey against a very welcoming Denstone College team with the S.A. girls relishing the opportunity to test their skills on a super new astro pitch. Both sides agreed the rules for the meet – new rules but with indoor rules along one side! It made the best of the facilities and the S.A. girls adapted well.
Amelia H got the score line rolling with the first goal of the match (her first of 5!) and capitalised nicely on some great positioning near the Denstone goalie to take advantage of some opportunistic scoring. Both Freya H (the birthday girl! – teenager!) and Nancy J demonstrated some excellent ball control, reverse stick work and sustained a great work rate for the full 40 minutes. Nancy J also added greatly to the goal tally, scoring 3 goals, but working her socks off to set a great deal more. Both girls are worthy of the player of the match titles!
Well done to everyone and a big thanks to Miss W for the much valued coaching and encouragement to the girls, greatly appreciated.
