U13B v Foremarke Hall Lost 4-3

A mixed U13/12 team playing on Repton Astro. We played hard from the start of the first half, scoring within the first 5 minutes, Hattie H finding herself in front of an open goal and pushing the ball into the bottom, left corner - great start! We continued to dominate, gaining most of the possession and having a number of shots on goal, which were well saved by the Foremarke 'keeper. Unfortunately, there was a lapse of concentration or lack of communication in the opposition's circle and an 'own goal' was scored, however, we scored legitimately 2 minutes later, Nancy S beating the 'keeper and putting us 2-1 up. We played competently for the remainder of the half, Ali H, Olivia C and Emma S solid at the back, defending well. Chloe R-S and Millie C played outstandingly throughout the match, a cracking cross from Millie found the back of the goal after being deflected off the 'keepers pads. The score 3-1, Foremarke upped the pressure and scored in the last 60 seconds of the half.

At half time, we made a few substitutions and I am not sure this was the right decision, as it appeared to unsettled the team, we did not play nearly as well in the second half, or was it that Foremarke upped their game? Either way, the opposition gained most of the possession and had a number of shots on goal, Emma S worked incredibly hard in goal and made some impressive saves. However, Foremarke managed two more goals in close succession. We did not have time to equalise, despite fabulous attempts from our forwards, particularly Millie C, who was awarded PoM for her efforts.

Overall, an exciting game and enjoyable atmosphere at Repton but one even the Foremarke coach admitted would have been more fair had we drawn!
