What a wonderful atmosphere today!  I would like to thank the parents and girls for making it a very special afternoon from start to finish.  The girls were dressed in bright socks, Christmas decorations and brightly coloured tutu’s.  The parents dress ranged from a very lovely Christmas Tree on the pitch, Santa as Goal keeper, Mrs R-S had a very interesting choice of Christmas hat and ear muffs!!  We had Santa’s elf to a very interesting Mrs Miranda Santa!!!  These were only a few.  After the U13XI squad performed their version of the Hacka – NZ watch out!  The girls certainly set the atmosphere for the match ahead.  In the first half the girls were very quick to make their mark, after 20 seconds, the first goal was scored by Arabella H wearing very dodgy orange hockey socks owned previously by Mr Heap!  This was certainly a wake up call and the parents reacted quickly to put the pressure on and aim to level the score. It was very tight and lots of possession on both sides.  There was a break in play and the parents team “pressed the D” with excellent positioning by Elf Ben W to level the score for the parents team.  It was all to play for and the half time score remained 1 – 1.  A huge thank you must go to Mrs Hartley for her excellent spread of Slow Gin and treats for the parents and Cup cakes for the girls at half time.  It was such a special treat! It certainly warmed the teams up for the second half.  After a constructive and determined team talk led by Captain Jess R-S, the girls were certainly not to going to lose this match.  In the second half it was all to play for.  Then, there was a break in play, Bocky did it again – the girls went 2 -1 up and the parents were certainly not going to let the top performance deteriorate.  Mrs Harrison was quick to react and positioned herself perfectly on the penalty spot and scored brilliantly!  The score was 2 – 2, it was a bit too close for the U13XI.  They needed to do something about the scoreline and quick!  After a couple of short corners for the parents and a green card having to be awarded to Miranda!  Arabella H managed to gain possession, make a quick break and scored confidently.  The final whistle went and the final score was 3 – 2 win for the U13XI side.  It was a brilliant team effort!  After the match, both teams were presented with lovely food, mulled wine for the parents and fruit cocktails for the girls.  It was a super atmosphere and the perfect ending to a great season.  Well done to all!  I would like to wish you all a Very Happy Christmas! Enjoy the Christmas break.
