Under 8 versus St Peter & St Paul, Wednesday 19th November 2008
This was the Under 8's introduction to competitive rugby, with a total of 15 Transition pupils, boys and girls taking part. Tag rugby is a fast, most enjoyable form of rugby with no contact so players of all abilities and sizes are able to compete against each other on a relatively level playing field. S.Anselm's started very well and at half time were leading 20-10 (4 tries to 2), during the second half St Peter & St Paul got their game together and with some elusive fast running managed to turn the match around and run out winners by 50-30 (10 tries to 6). This was a match enjoyed by both players and spectators played in the right spirit and there is certainly plenty of promise for the future of S.Anselm's rugby despite the final result.
