This was the final game of the season for the under 9 girls, who have played some super hockey this term and have really enjoyed the match experiences. They were a little nervous prior to this game, having played Grace Dieu two weeks previously and having lost 0 - 1 to them, in the Foremarke Hockey Festival. This game was on grass though and we had home advantage. Under 8 girls, Inge T and Ella H also joined us for this game, not having been able to play for the school at the Foremarke Festival, this was going to be their last opportunity to play in a hockey match.

The game was fairly end to end, with both teams tackling impressively and working hard to bring the ball down the pitch. Initially the girls used the middle channel, but not the wings, but both teams became better at this as the game progressed. Inge T timed her tackles well, whilst Ella H, demonstrated good stick skills and a steely determination to bring the ball into the D. Gabby H played well in this game, supporting the forwards impressively, whilst Frankie R and Charlotte H, sometimes the last defenders left, kept their heads and sticks low to win the ball and clear it from the D. Francecsa R and Hattie N displayed their usual feistiness and energy on the pitch, hassling the Grace Dieu girls to win back the ball, whilst Francesca N's hits kept chipping the ball forwards into the GD defending end.

Morgan G found good spaces on the pitch, to pick up through balls and continually hassle the GD defence, she came close to scoring on a number of occasions. Annie M was also on excellent form in this game and proved to be the girl to finish off the ball into the goal. Both our goals were scored by her, with her pushing it firmly into the far corners of the goal to finally beat the GD defence.

All in all a great team performance, with Francesca R also finding the goal, but unfortunately being outside the D when she fired the shot powerfully into it. An even more impressive result, considering our loss two weeks earlier. The girls wanted to finish the season on a high and they certainly did, well played all and thanks to our loyal supporters for another really positive piece of sideline encouragement, we hope you have enjoyed the season as much as we have!
