U9 v Ranby House Lost by 69 runs

The Year 3 & 4 boys were very excited to be playing their second match at Ranby. S.Anselm’s won the toss and asked Ranby to bat. The first Ranby pair were good and were severe on the wayward S.Anselm’s bowling. Many wides were bowled, more practice is needed! Shea J bowled accurately and was rewarded with two wickets and he was well supported by Marcus K and Alexander S who both took a wicket each. Ranby scored 209 for 4 in their 24 overs.

When it came to S.Anselm’s batting, they failed to play straight and punish the bad balls. Only George W, George L and Max H were able to hit 4’s and we lost too many wickets (8 in total), the total at the end of the 24 over S.Anselm’s innings was 140 for 8. A loss by 69 runs recorded.

The boys need to practice hard and focus in the week ahead before they play their next match. There is much potential amongst the group, stick at it, the results will come.
