U9 v Ranby House Won 7-0

On a very damp afternoon we set off for our rearranged fixture at Ranby, and what a match it was. All the girls played to their best standard and the result was 7-0 after 15 minutes.

At the back a combination of Tilly S, Miriam A and Nicola G worked well together. In mid field Holly D, Amber H (scored 1) and Tilly S part time, kept the ball in the attacking half. In the forward position Constance W, Laura M (scored 1) and Tara O worked very energetically.  I awarded Tara O'R ‘Player of the Match’ for her superb work in attacking and scoring 5 of the 7 goals.

Rather than playing a second half and demoralising our opponents, we mixed the Ranby and S.Anselms girls together for the next half. This was a fun way to finish the game and it gave everyone match experience with our forwards playing against our defence.

We now have quite a break before our next match. We will continue to focus on stick and ball skills, as well as spacing out on the field to avoid crowding the play. At more senior levels this decreases the opportunities for goals to be scored.
