U9 v Smallwood Manor Won 25 -15

S Anselm’s been once again slow to get into their stride and went behind to an early score from Smallwood. This was the wake up call that was required and S. Anselm’s rallied with some rampaging runs from Ludo L, Angus E and Henry L. There was good support play from Hamish O, James L, Cian B, Cameron H, Max W and Tom C. The scores were levelled when Ludo went over the line, S. Anselm’s kept the pressure on and shortly afterwards Angus scored a try and the score was 10-5 to S. Anselm’s at half time.
S. Anselm’s relaxed and Smallwood levelled the scores shortly after the break. Once again S. Anselm’s bounced back to regain the lead with Ludo scoring his second try by just squeezing in at the corner, shortly afterwards Ludo completed his hat trick and things were looking comfortable at 20-10, Smallwood had different ideas and clawed there way back into the match by scoring their third try. There was some good defending by S. Anselm’s especially by Barnaby D, Henry T and George T who had been introduced as tactical substitutes in the second half. The game was sealed by a solo try by Angus, his second of the match.
A good team performance, with the team improving with every match they play.
