Having lost the toss S.Anselm’s were put into bat and lost no time in trying to knock up some early runs, with George W batting 3rd and hitting several 4’s to knock up a healthy 12 for no wicket from his limited overs. Sadly the inertia tailed off and the remaining batters had to rely on extras to provide further runs. Anselm’s completed their batting, scoring a total of 248 and having lost 9 wickets.
The batting behind them, S.Anselm’s took to the field, but quickly found that Terra Nova were keen to hit them round the park. With each pupil delivering 2 overs, the bowlers had their work cut out for them. George W, Marcus K and Russell F all managed to take 2 wickets. The highlight of the fielding was the awesome low catch but Alexander S. By the end of their innings TN had lost 11 wickets, but had accumulated surfeit of runs to put them on 291 to win the match.
Man of the match: George W for solid batting and bowling.
