A very gutsy performance from the S. Anselm's U9 team in their first match of the season against Wellow House. In particular, the forwards defence was tireless as well as some encouraging attacks from the backs. There is certainly a lot to learn this season but there are many positives to take forward onto the training ground. Keeping their shape in both attack and defence and some hard work at the breakdowns will certainly make a difference in matches to come. Credit must go to Wellow House who played competitively and with good sportsmanship. The S. Anselm's boys will go into their next match with improved confidence, they were by no means an easy pushover.
Special mention should go to George L for his fearless tackling and to Max H for his captaincy role. Toby D made some good yards and offloaded well on a number of occasions, Arthur L had a good game in the pack and Shay J made some promising breaks from the scrum-half position. Onwards and Upwards for the U9s.
