A great match to end our very enjoyable season!
The girls really did pull out a super fielding performance and rarely made any errors at all. Mimi C bowled incredibly consistently and controlled the game with confidence whilst Lily H, our back stop, played intelligently throwing precisely to 2nd post to stop the opposition scoring. Lexi and Livi B-D demonstrated excellent catching skills throughout both innings and made some important stumpings proceeded by Evie D on 2nd post- who, as always, guarded it with her life!!
Our batting was a little slow to begin with however we tried to watch the ball more carefully onto our bats and this resulted in a much better 2nd innings. Frederique M-W used her speed to sprint round the posts with Tilly S, Amber H, Constance W, Imogen N and Laura D connecting fully with the ball. The final ball of the 2nd innings was hit by Natalie G who, with bat in one hand and cap in the other, managed to sprint all the way round to score our only full rounder!
The Elm’s could certainly connect well with the ball but our tight fielding stopped them from scoring.
Another exhilarating game which proved to be lots of fun for the all the pupils, parents and the umpires!
POMs = Mimi C and Lily H (with a special mention for Lexi B-D who captained the team so professionally!)
Well played to all of the Transition and 1st Yr girls this season. It has been pleasing to see that everyone has represented the school in a match this term – despite our first two matches being cancelled. It has been a pleasure coaching the team and I’ve been impressed with the progress all the girls have made.
