U9A RUGBY v QEGS

This match proved to be a savage battle. The QEGS team was the strongest opposition we have faced this year and quickly took control of the game. The Anselm’s U9’s, led by Shea were 2 tries down before the really began to cut in and wake up.

QEGS played a superb quick passing game and when running into contact they were tough to stop. But stop them we did on a number of occasions with some snarling tackles from Toby and Matthew. It was at breakdowns that we fought our best, with some excellent rucking that actually won on us the ball in a several instances.

Sadly in attack the Anselm’s team were just unable to punch through, despite some nice runs from Russell and Matthew. As a focus we must look to run straight and hard with the ball and tackle with more vigour.
