U9A Rugby v Terra Nova Lost 20-5

This was another great afternoon of rugby with a very committed U9 squad working hard as a team.  The game initially started well with S. Anselm’s putting in rugged tackles and challenging with real vigour at the rucks.  Russell F was ripping his way through breakdowns and the swift hands of Shea J recycled the ball effectively.  Despite this the Terra Nova defence was excellent.  Sadly S. Anselm’s were far too bunched and this allowed the opposition to smuggle the ball around the blind side and score the first try of the match.

The second half proved more fruitful for Terra Nova, with them pounding through another couple of tries in. 
S. Anselm’s held on well and at last managed to get the ball down to obtain their only points.  George L and Josh G displayed some great tackles throughout the game.  Despite the varied attacks with same great phases and continuity the U9’s were unable to put in any more points.
