U9B Vs Barlborough U9B’s
This Wednesday saw a much-improved S. Anselm's U9B’s take on the Barlborough U9B’s. With the Loss of our captain Matthew W to the A squad meant that the rest of the team needed to step up, and it pleases me to say that every player to a man did an exceptional job with only one missed tackle in the entire match.
After a quick training session with the opposing team, the match commenced with Barlborough starting with a free pass. Russell F made his first of many tackles and then S. Anselm's pushed them back which allowed Russell F to steal the ball and run in the first try. After several good defensive plays from the entire team more tries came from Adam S and James C.
Into the second half S. Anselm's kept their dominance in both attack and defence. Some excellent off-load passing from Wilson W and Russell F created two of the best tries of the day. An excellent day all round for the B’s and although the inspirational coaching of Mr Wood was missed our 1st win and very positive step in the right direction.
A big thank you to the Barlborough team for hosting us again and once again to the exceptional support of the parents that came to watch.
