An early start but the weather could not have been nicer, cold but sun and blue sky.
The girls were very excited en route to Foremarke and we arrived in good time to organise ourselves. Both A and B teams played at the same time, firstly against Foremarke. The organisers had decided to only play two 7 minute halves per match, it was therefore important we gained possession quickly, which we did, thanks to great play from Frederique MW and Tilly S, however, despite many attempts on goal, there was no score at half time.
The second half was much more successful with Tara OR scoring our first goal early on. Foremarke came back and nearly scored but some great goal-keeping from Lexi BD prevented this. Our wings Mimi C and Natalie G managed to get the ball back down our end and Tara OR scored again to seal the victory for us.
Our next opponents were Bilton Grange, this was their first match so we had the advantage of being warmed up and having already played a match. We dominated throughout, Tara OR continued her run of goal scoring with two early goals and Lily H managed to score just before half time. Bilton Grange did score a goal but were prevented from scoring more, due to the fabulous defending of Livi BD. In the second half of this match, we looked like a great team, most having grasped the rudiments of the game. Lily H played outstandingly, making many interceptions of the ball and scoring three fabulous goals for us. Bilton Grange never managed to score again, making the match result 6-1 and us overall winners of our group.
