U9/U8 v Terra Nova Drew 4-4

Player of the Match: Livi B-D

This was a game of two halves, despite playing 4 quarters! Terra Nova won the toss and elected for first centre pass, this gave them the advantage and they were quick to score. We gained much possession but were unable to feed the ball through to our shooters - good defending from the Terra Nova team and they scored again despite great defending from Livi BD. Evie D did manage to score a lovely goal for us, just before the end of the first quarter. The 2nd quarter was rather uneventful for us, we did not score, unable to get the ball to the eagerly awaiting goal-shooter Tara OR. We were passing too close and not making any headway down the court and Terra Nova intercepted many of our passes. It was the third quarter of the match where we looked like a team to be reckoned with - making longer passes and getting in front of our opposition to gain possession. Each team scored one goal apiece, Evie D clocking up her second. Lily H and Livi BD played particularly well for the remainder of the match. Evie scored a third, a hat-trick for her team and Amber H managed to put away the all important equaliser just seconds before the final whistle. A good match in the end girls but let's not take too long to get into the game, start as you mean to go on from the moment the first whistle blows. Many thanks for all the parental support, I would say we drew the long straw playing in the Sports Hall, when the other teams were outside in the snow!
