U9/U8 v Wellow House Won 3-1

This was our second match of the term and first away match, so the girls were quite nervous and a little uncertain, as the pitch and school were all new to them. We did not attack so confidently at first and were reluctant to go in for tackles. That said we once again dominated play and the ball did not enter our defending D very often. Immy scored our first goal after 6 minutes, when persistent determination and feisty play by her eventually paid off. In the second half we were better at making the challenges and looked for each other to pass to. Holly D made some great tackles and distributed the ball intelligently. Evie and Laura M worked hard to bring the ball up the pitch and Immy N was superb on her wing. Lily also attacked impressively and the hard work paid off with another two goals by our girls in this half. Despite some great defending by Amber H and Laura D the Wellow girls managed to peg one back, after our girls were distracted by Evie returning to the pitch after injury. It was great to see Livi and Lexi making their debuts for the under 8/9 team and both did well and enjoyed the opportunity to play for their school. Well done all!
