U 11 Worksop College Festival Results

Vs Highfield Prep – Won 7 – 0
Our first game of the tournament was against Highfield Prep. From the start of the match we were on the attack and were firmly camped on their try line for the entire first half. We went over the line on no less than 3 occasions but were held up by some dogged defence so we went into half time still at 0-0. The second half proved to be much of the same, in fact every second of the match was spent in the opposition half. Oli Rudd did manage to score a try giving us a very deserved 7-0 victory and a good start to the tournament.

Vs Spratton Hall – Lost 21 - 0
Unfortunately for us we came up against a very strong Spratton Hall side without having had the benefit of a rest after the first game. Spratton Hall were very clinical from the start and we lost 21 – 0.

Vs Ranby House – Lost 19 - 7
By the time we faced Ranby House we were a little shell shocked from the Spratton Hall game. Ranby were a physical team but by no means deserved the 19-7 score line.

Vs Witham Hall – Drew 19-19

After two bruising encounters against Spratton Hall and Ranby House, heads seemed to be down in the first half of the match against Witham Hall. Conceding a try early on only seemed to deflate the team further. By half time we were 19 – 0 down. The second half saw a resurgent S. Anselm’s team and a few minutes into the second half Oli Rudd scampered down the right wing to score an excellent try. From this point it was one way traffic as S. Anselm’s dominated the possession and territory. A try a piece for Nick Price and Cameron Dale and two conversions from Oli Rudd earned us a thrilling 19-19 draw.
