This was a fun and fairly restful weekend, so just what everyone needed. On Friday the boys raced upstairs to join Mr Northcott in the Sky TV Room to watch the England v Wales game. Great cheers bounced off the walls as England squeezed out a victory. The next day with House matches off, the boys and girls headed back to their Houses rapidly and had a wonderful Saturday night relaxing with their friends and being treated to hot chocolates and much else. Refreshed and well slept, the boys and girls jumped out of their beds and raced down to breakfast before heading to the Grandparents' Service and receiving a great deal of wisdom from Mrs Lings who spoke about the need to consider our actions but to be prepared to make mistakes. The hall was packed with grandparents and parents and it was wonderful to see so many S. Anselm's devotees attending! After this, the families went off and had some precious time with their children. Some walked, some ate fabulous lunches in pubs and some even went fishing. I also heard that Felicinis was full of S. Anselm's families too! That evening the Year 7 and 8's had an hour of guided study time and then some watched David Starkey on English Monarchy in the Hargreaves Hall. Early nights were had by all to ensure that the last days before half term will be as fruitful as the the first days of the term! Well done to all and thanks to all the families who offered to take other children out for the afternoon too. Have a great half term!
