Year Two enjoyed an amazing barbecue and camping trip to round off the end of the Summer Term. The weather was kind to us and activities were enjoyed in the warm sunshine. Lots of energy was burnt off by having fun in the swimming pool. Next the children worked in teams and were challenged to make lots of different kinds of dens using materials provided. Certificates were then awarded for the most ingenious, most beautiful, best design and best to get caught in a torrential downpour! All the tents even passed the dreaded wobble test!!
While the children were playing in the sunshine the barbecue could be smelt wafting through the air. After all the activities the children feasted on scrumptious ‘Bonsall’ burgers and sausages followed by refreshing melon and pineapple.
After supper it was a quick change into pyjamas and a relaxing DVD. Ready for bed the children snuggled down into their sleeping bags and, after chatting about all the exciting things that had happened during the afternoon, drifted off to sleep.
The camping trip was rounded off the following morning by a delicious breakfast served in the dining room with all the grown up boarders. What a treat!
A fantastic time had been had by all and hopefully a super way to complete their happy times in the Pre-Prep!
