Year 7 Visit to Caudwell Mill

Year 7 Visit to Caudwell Mill

The resilience of the Year 7s was tested in near Arctic conditions by Tuesday’s trip to Caudwell Mill! We learnt about why the mill was located on this fast flowing stretch of the river Wye and how water power had been harnessed since Medieval times. After an interesting tour learning how the water drives the mill and about the flour making process, we finally defrosted in the café. Our findings will be followed up in geography lessons. Thanks to Mrs Whawell, Mr Mace and Mr Berry too for this cold but intriguing outing.
