On Thursday night, the parents of children in Years 6 ,7 and 8 experienced an entertaining evening of evocative readings. After enjoying some wine and cheese they sat back and listened to some exceptional interpretations from our very articulate and confident children. A range of prose extracts were read, from The Thwarting of Baron Bollingrew to Carrie’s War, and there was some thought provoking poetry too.
The children were outstanding. They read clearly, with great enthusiasm and were extremely well presented. Moreover, they thoroughly enjoyed the evening too!
The English Department were very proud of the pupils and we would also like to thank our adjudicators, Maurice Walters (Deputy Head Academic) from Shrewsbury School and Kate Campbell (Head of English) from Repton School.
We were also very grateful to Dan Nicholas (Prep School Liaison Co-ordinator) from Shrewsbury School who joined us.
