The children in Years 1 and 2 have been making colourful African masks in their art lessons, inspired by the abstract use of shape and pattern of ceramic artist Kimmy Cantrell.
Cardboard was used to make the mask, by gluing layers of cardboard onto the main face shape. The children then painted the cardboard masks with bright colours and patterns. Finally, they added painted pasta shapes to add further embellishment!
There are some fantastic, creative outcomes!
