Lent Term Clubs 2020
Our termly menu of After School Clubs is highly popular and it is marvelous to see so many of our pupils enjoying the choice of activities on offer and giving their teachers positive feedback each week.
Clubs are open to both boarders and day pupils. Some of the clubs will incur a nominal charge e.g. gymnastics, swim squad, mixed cricket, sailing, yoga, dance, karate and pottery to cover materials or entrance costs and/or external specialist staff; which is chargeable for the whole term.
All pupils staying from 5.00pm for clubs, have a snack straight after school. The activities / prep sessions then run from 5.15pm for an hour, before supper at 6.30pm. The senior clubs commence at 7.00pm and run until 8.00pm. Please note the timings for some of the clubs offered by external staff will be slightly different (see below).
Please note that some of the clubs have a limited number of places, so please ensure you book places for your child with Mrs Brailich at the earliest opportunity.
The 4.00pm finish for Prep School children not involved in matches, provides an opportunity for pupils to recharge their batteries and day pupils are encouraged to take advantage of the slightly earlier finish on this day. Should any day pupils remain in school for the Wednesday after school sports hall session starting at 4.15pm, an activity charge will be added to their bill. Any day pupils attending this session should be collected by 6.00pm at the latest. Supper on this evening and the later clubs are for Boarders only. In an emergency, day pupils may stay for supper but will be charged the emergency meal rate.
On Fridays, any child remaining in school after 5.00pm will need to sign up for one of the clubs. The pupils have supper on Friday straight after lessons at 5.00pm, before clubs commence at 5.30pm. Many of the Friday activities are off-site, involving travelling and the others are more time consuming, so two hours are allowed for them. With the return to full boarding, there will no longer be a Friday evening film, with this reverting to Saturday evenings. All boarders will have a prep and reading session after the completion of their two-hour activity.
Emergency Supper / Breakfast
Catering numbers and requirements are finalised with our Kitchen Manager a week in advance, with meals being planned carefully in order to avoid food waste. For any parents needing post-club child care and wishing to sign up their child as an emergency addition to breakfast or supper, due to last minute unforeseen circumstances an emergency meal rate of £5 will be incurred. On such occasions, please notify the school office before 5.00pm.
