Pre-Prep took delivery of 1,000 trees this week and helped by parents, this gardening gang drilled, dug, planted and staked almost 600 trees in less than 2 hours.  What a fantastic gesture of helping the environment!

They planted hawthorn hedges; a circle of silver birch; filled a wet patch with willow and planted a native hedge, the entire length of the car park.  They also added a sprinkle of crab apple trees to appease the local birds and some hazel for growing wood to create woodland crafts in the Forest Fun area.  Extra trees have been potted up by the Nursery children, to nurture over the winter and plant in the school grounds at some point in the near future.

Many thanks to the kitchen team, who filled and warmed everyone’s tummies with delicious cakes and biscuits.  Sincere thanks also to our wonderfully supportive parents – without whose help the children may have still been digging holes long into the night!
