Move aside snake and ladders and monopoly and make way for Year 6’s very own maths board game inventions!

Following the exams, our Year 6 pupils set about designing and creating their own board games in their maths lessons. They spent time planning, researching and making their games.  The children discovered that there are actually not a lot of board games on the market that are both suitable for their age group and that are challenging enough.  A variety of games were created with ‘Mathopoly’, ‘Maths Wars!’, ‘Maths attack’ and ‘Maths race’ being favourites among the class.

Pupils presented their games to everyone and spent a lesson trying to play each other’s games, giving constructive feedback based on their experience.  It was lovely to see them all so enthusiastic about maths following their exams.

Well done Year 6!
