Sunday was our last boarding Sunday of the term, and what a day it was!  Tennis competition at Abbeydale (well played Annabelle); Paradise Island Crazy Golf, (keep working on those hole in ones Prince); fun pool games (thank you Mr Critchlow) and to top it off, a lovely barbecue on the Headmaster’s lawn, (delicious, thank you to Auntie Sheryl)!

It has been great to be back to almost normal and School House has been increasingly busy throughout the term, not only with our regular full and weekly boarders, but an increase in flexi boarders too. We have also welcomed all of our Year 3, 4 and 5 pupils as part of their residentials and at the time of reading will also have our Year 8 pupils boarding with us for the final three nights of term.  After the testing dynamics of lockdown our pupils have loved being able to relax with their friends and enjoy some fun.

A huge thank you to Miss Pink, who has been with us in School House for four years, she has worked tirelessly and made boarding life such fun, for both pupils and fellow staff.  She will still be teaching Art and Textiles, but we wish her all the best as she embarks on the property ladder and hope she is happy in her new home.  Thanks also to Mr Jackson, whose Parlour Games have been legendary.  He has fitted in brilliantly with and there has never been a dull moment when he is around!  We look forward to welcoming him back into School House after his travels and nine months abroad. Thanks also to Mr Kemsley; we will miss his sporadic bursts into song at breakfast and supper and wish him the best of luck with his University course . It takes a special kind of person to be part of our boarding team and we look forward to welcoming our new staff in September, who will continue the School House legacy, we are sure.

Please look out for the club and boarding options email which will go out to Prep School parents during the first week of the summer holiday. We look forward to welcoming College boarders into School House from September and as a result there will be some reconfiguration of the boarding house over the summer.  Spaces in boarding will be at a premium on certain nights. Booking priority will be given firstly being to full boarders, followed by weekly boarders and then to flexi boarders, depending on the number of nights that they require.
