Year 5 created bird models using cardboard, wood, wire, feathers and plasticine.  They took their inspiration from the work of the famous children’s book illustrator, Brian Wildsmith whose book on birds was among his many wonderful illustrations which burst with life and colour.  The children used wax crayons combined with oil pastels to create the beautiful colour effects in the feathers of the birds. Some pupils then went on to create nests or branches for the birds to sit on.  Mrs. Bennion was extremely impressed by their creativity!
