Year 6 pupils enjoyed a fantastic visit to Bosworth Heritage centre. We had a very informative guide who took us around the battlefield and explained how both Richard III and Henry Tudor’s armies would have been preparing the night before the battle.

The second activity enabled the children to look at great deal of weaponry and armour which the soldiers would have worn. John the Archer gave us a fantastic demonstration of how to fire his arrows at speed, striving to achieve nearly 10 arrows per minute! The pupils had good fun practicing how to march in time whilst carrying their weapons safely on their shoulders!

Finally, an interesting visit around the exhibition allowed pupils to try on helmets and chain mail and consider just how strong the soldiers must have been to cope with the weight of the armour when going into battle.
