Inspired by their learning about the Celts, the children in Year 4 were eager to recreate their own Celtic Roundhouses.

They began by using clay to form the main building, thinking about leaving a hole in the roof for smoke from the fire to escape and a door, but no windows.  Next, they decided to form an outside area and fire pits, drying racks, vegetable patches and areas for livestock were all added to make their designs as authentic as possible.

Everyone is very proud of their efforts which are displayed for the whole school to see in the main foyer.  Sadly it isn’t possible for parents to see come in to see these amazing models, but hopefully the photographs below give an impression of the final results.  They truly look fantastic.  Well done Year 4!
